Here is a fun and current take on Aran sweaters. This aran cardigan has high relief cables with lace at the sides for a slimming effect. No ribbing at hem and cuffs gives a sweeping effect from hem to shoulders.

Keyhole cables cross in opposite directions allowing for the keyhole shape with a special cable crossing that allows the cable to lie flatter. The large cable panel is fun, twisting left and right; however, it will keep you on your toes as the number of stitches in the cables that cross the purls varies.
