About:
The idea for the Killadoon Hat was born of daffodils and cabled sweaters—it ultimately got its name from this photo of a field of daffodils in Killadoon, a village just north of the area where my mom grew up in Ireland.

The daffodil was always a favorite of my mom’s and the color was just perfect for this hat. The cable/moss stitch texture reminded me of the cabled Aran sweaters of my childhood and teen years. I knew that they were destined to be combined into this hat.

This textured hat is engaging from the first stitch until the last. It’s suitable for an intermediate knitter but engaging enough for a more advanced one.  It is a fun knit that leaves you with a hat that fits as comfortably on a teenage girl as it does on a full-grown man. This timeless knit will be one that you reach for over and over—for years to come.
