I’m so thrilled that this pattern is once more active in my store, that I would like you to enjoy 30% OFF this design until 31 July 2025. Just make sure to place the pattern in your cart & apply the following code before checking out: KT2025

Knit FLAT in one piece, KIWI TRAVELLER features simple cable & reverse stockinette bands, separated by a few stockinette rows.

Stitches are cast on & worked until approximately halfway, when half are placed on hold as you work the first, ‘top’ section, & repeat the process to work a second top section. After blocking, a short seam joins the 2 pieces to produce a faux collar.

You can STYLE your finished project HANDS FREE (with the back longer than the front), or ASYMETRICALLY/ diagonally.

NOTE: Because of the way this item is constructed, it’s quite loose/drapey & one size fits many. It could be adjusted by slightly changing the needle size/yarn thickness but I have not given guidelines on that in the pattern.

2025 DESIGN SAMPLE MEASUREMENTS
Length DIAGONALLY = approx 77-86 cm.
Length HANDS FREE = approx 34-38cm (FRONT, BACK is longer)
(Worn LENGTH will vary, due to height/shoulder width of the wearer)

Included in the pattern are photos with measurements, BLOCKING & SEAMING notes, as well as instructions for an OPTIONAL CROCHETED NECK EDGE. See this project for a close up of the neck edge.

The ORIGINAL (2016) KIWI TRAVELLER, came about in anticipation of an overseas trip. I’m pleased to say it functions exactly as I originally intended it to, adding an extra layer of warmth without weight when required. Even around home!

The 2025 Edition of the pattern introduces 2 new design samples, in yarns of similar thickness to the original (s) but with different properties, & knit using a smaller needle size this time around. Both of the yarns used should perform well with a slightly bigger needle.
