Knit your own little birds or Knit Chicks, they’re only 3” tall. Knit Lovebirds, Easter Chicks or Bird Mascots. Knit a branch full in festive colors or knit enough to fill a small woodland. So many ideas from just one pattern.

For an INTERMEDIATE knitter. The Knit Chicks are knitted flat on straight needles using short row shaping (fully explained in the pattern). There are some pieces knitted individually and then sewn together.

SKILLS REQUIRED:
Garter (knit) Stitch
purl stitch
decreasing with k2tog
3 needle bind off
Short row shaping (fully explained in pattern)

MATERIALS REQUIRED:
40 yards of double knitting yarn in color required for body and tail
4 yards of orange double knitting yarn for beak
US size 3 (3.25mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge
Additional single knitting needle of the same or similar size, could be a double pointed needle
Scraps of black and white or other colored felt for the eyes
Tapestry needle
Sharp pointed large eyed needle (candlewicking needle)
Handful of washable fiberfill (stuffing)
