This sweater is a love letter to the slow, steady, repetitive movements of knitting that help us relax and find our way back to the here and now. Or simply a fun nerd shirt for our favourite hobby! The Knit Purl Repeat Sweater is knitted seamlessly, top-down and mostly in the round. Despite its relaxed fit with some positive ease, the saddle shoulders, set-in sleeves and faux seams on the sides ensure that the sweater fits well and drapes nicely. The pattern also includes instructions on how to incorporate waist shaping if desired.
The statement is created with colourwork stripes – which begin shortly before joining to work the round. This means you will need to purl a couple of colourwork rows for the back and front piece each – but don‘t worry! This was my first time knitting colorwork flat, it worked out smoothly and thanks to the simple pattern, this is a great opportunity to practice the technique! You do need some experience in colorwork in general though to knit this pattern successfully.

Dieser Pullover ist eine Liebeserklärung an die langsamen, gleichmäßigen, repetitiven Bewegungen das Strickens, die uns entspannen und im Hier und Jetzt verankern. Und außerdem ein fröhliches Nerd-Shirt für unser liebstes Hobby! Der Knit Purl Repeat Sweater wird ohne Nähen von oben nach unten und größtenteils in der Runde gestrickt. Trotz lockerer Passform mit etwas Bewegungsspielraum sorgen die verstärkten Sattelschultern, die eingesetzten Ärmel und der Nahteffekt an den Seiten dafür, dass der Pullover gut sitzt und schön fällt. Außerdem enthält die Anleitung ein Rezept, wie du eine Taillierung einarbeiten kannst, wenn du möchtest.
Das Statement entsteht durch Colourwork-Streifen – die schon beginnen, kurz bevor du zur Runde schließt. Das bedeutet, dass du für das Rücken- und Vorderteil jeweils ein paar Rückreihen zweifarbig strickst – aber keine Sorge! Ich habe für diesen Pullover auch zum ersten Mal Colourwork in Reihen gestrickt, es hat direkt problemlos geklappt und dank dem einfachen Muster ist es eine tolle Gelegenheit, die Technik zu üben! Etwas Colourwork-Erfahrung solltest du aber trotzdem mitbringen, um diesen Pullover erfolgreich zu stricken.
