Inspired by Donna Druchunas’ Resist Hat and the Pussyhat Projects’ Pussy Hat, here is a chart for the words KNIT THE RESISTANCE and a cat, so you can make sure your pussy is represented.

The pattern I followed for the hat is this:

Cast on 96 stitches and join in the round. I use a tubular cast on.

On smaller needles, knit in 1x1 or 2x2 or whatever ribbing you prefer for as long as you prefer. I did 2x2 for 40 rounds so I can turn up the brim.

Switch to larger needles and knit the next round. Increase 4 stitches evenly. You now have 100 stitches. Knit another four rounds.

Start knitting from the Charts. Chart A covers the first 50 stitches, Chart B covers the second 50 stitches. I switch up a needle size because my stranded knitting tends to be tight.

After all rows of the charts are completed, continue in stockinette until the hat is as tall as you want it to be. On the next round, decrease four stitches evenly. Knit the next round.

Round 1: Decrease eight stitches evenly throughout the round.

Round 2: Knit the round.

Repeat these two rounds until there are eight stitches left. Pull the end through the remaining stitches and weave in the ends.

Thank you!!!
