It has been a dream of mine to create this Knitted Solar System for a very long time. As a super fan of Science Fiction stories of humanity exploring the cosmos and living on distant or nearby planets, I have always been in awe of the planets in our solar system.

This pattern is my expression of how much I love the world around me and has already given me so much joy! I used this pattern to create a beautiful mobile for my nephew and I intend on creating one for myself that I will hang in the corner of my living room, reminding me of how awesome the universe that I live in is.

All 10 of the spheres in this pattern set are made using double pointed needles or circular needles.

Knitted Solar System Pattern Details

This pattern set contains 10 patterns in PDF format to make all 9 planets, one planetoid and our star, the sun. This pattern comes in written and chart instructions in English, so you can choose which version you want to follow. I have written this pattern so that anyone who hasn’t tackled knitting in the round will feel confident in creating your own solar system. I created YouTube videos to help you create my world pattern which can be used to help you knit your own planets: http://bit.ly/KnittwittowoYouTube
