I designed this hat for my son and daughter, Konnor and River. They both wanted a slouchy hat but didn’t want to look too matchy, so I designed River’s with a seed stitch brim, and a big fluffy 100% angora pom. And I made Konnor’s with a ribbed brim, and no pom. The rest of the hat is the same, and I’ve included instructions for both brims. So you get to choose! This hat is worked in the round, from the brim up, and can be worn slouchy with the brim unfolded, or as more of a beanie with the brim folded up.

Please know that you are free to use your finished object from this, and any of my other patterns, for pleasure or for profit.

Difficulty:
The hat itself is easy, but the crown might be a challenge for a beginner.

Sizes:
Medium and Large. The medium will fit a head circumference of 20”-21” (tween to women’s medium) and the large will fit a head circumference of 22”-23” (women’s large or men’s medium). If you are a woman with lots of hair or just like a looser fitting hat you could try the large size. This hat is fairly forgiving size-wise, especially if you use an elastic wool like merino. The large will stretch to fit a larger size man.

Finished Dimensions:
Medium: 10” diameter x 9.5” tall, Large: 11” diameter x 10.5” tall (not counting pom :)
