From the pattern:

Kore is another name for the Greek goddess Persephone, who spent half of every year in Hades. When she returned to the land of the living each year, her mother Demeter was so overjoyed by her return that the earth burst forth with bounty – or what we know as springtime. So to celebrate Kore’s return (or perhaps to hurry it along!) here is a shawl bursting forth with flowers great and small, ready to keep out the spring chill and welcome the sun.
