Korsvika Vest
Korsvika Vest is a boxy crew neck vest with a double-knitted button band that is knit from the top down in stockinette stitch. Stitches are cast on for the back and German Short-Rows are worked to slightly slope the shoulders. The back panel is worked until the underarm, then stitches are picked up for the shoulders. The right and left front sections are worked separately, and the neckline and armholes are shaped on each panel with increases. The front panels are knit until the underarm, and stitches are cast on to connect the front sections to the to the back panel. The vest is then worked flat and ends in 2x2 ribbing. The armhole edges are picked up and knit double-folded in 2x2 ribbing, and stitches are picked up for the neckline, which is also worked double-folded in 2x2 ribbing. Finally, the double-knitted button band is worked, and the vest is finished with buttons.
Korsvika Sweater Vest: The pattern comes with a separate document describing a sweater vest (knit in the round without a button band) of the same measurements.

4.0mm circular needle, 80-100cm
Suggested yarn
300 (350) 400 (400) 450 (500) 500 (600) 650 (750)g Sandnes Garn Fritidsgarn (50g = 70m)
Or Bulky weight yarn, approximately
400 (450) 500 (550) 600 (650) 700 (800) 900 (1000)m.
If you want to knit the vest in three different colors as shown in the sample picture, you will need approximately this amount of bulky weight yarn given in meters:
Main color (navy blue): 150 (200) 250 (250) 300 (350) 400 (450) 500 (600)m
Contrast color 1 (pink): 100 (100) 100 (100) 100 (100) 100 (150) 200 (200)m
Contrast color 2 (light blue): 150 (150) 150 (150) 200 (200) 200 (200) 200 (200)m
The above yardages are calculated for the base gauge of 14 stitches and 22 rows and a body length of 50cm. If you knit at a tighter gauge or want to knit the jacket longer, you might need more yarn. If you knit at a looser gauge or want to knit the jacket shorter, you might need less yarn.
