Inspired by the intersecting lines and roof silhouette of the Kunsten Museum in Aalborg, Denmark, designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, this bonnet scarf features a shaped central section that sits comfortably on the head. The piece is worked seamlessly from tip to tip.

MATERIALS

Yarn: 1 skein of Dansk Pelsuld 8/2 by Hjelholt Uldspinderi (100% wool, 437 yds / 400 m – 100 g), in the colourway 04 Sand.

Or approx. 420 yds / 385 m of fingering-weight yarn.

Alternative yarn suggestions are for example Sølje by Hillesvåg Ullvarefabrikk or Finull by Rauma Garn.

Needles: US 2.5 / 3 mm at least 32” / 80 cm circular needles.

CONSTRUCTION
The bonnet scarf is worked flat from tip to tip. Increases shape the first narrow tip and establish the width of the scarf, after which the scarf is worked in 2 x 2 rib. The bonnet section is formed with increases,short rows and decreases, before the second scarf section and final tip are completed in the same manner.
