> Lace Bell Top

Lace Bell Top
The Lace Bell Top is worked from the top down. The back and front pieces are worked separately back and forth, beginning with a folded hem at the upper edge. After the lace pattern and armhole shaping are completed, the pieces are joined at the underarms using the backward loop cast-on method, and the body is then worked as one piece.
The body features a delicate lace panel and cable-style details, followed by a softly flared frill section that creates the bell-shaped silhouette. The hem is finished with ribbing so the frill can drape naturally.
The front edges are finished with a 3-stitch i-cord edging, with button loops worked along one side and buttons sewn onto the opposite side. The armholes are also finished with i-cord edging, which continues seamlessly into the shoulder straps.
This is a cropped top. The length can be adjusted by changing the number of stockinette rows in the body and the number of rows in the frill section.
Please knit a swatch before beginning your project to determine which needle size gives you the correct gauge.
