Relax and take it easy while you knit this colorful cotton blend shawl with a repetitive, classic, lace stitch pattern. Asymmetrical shawl starts with just a few stitches, adding in additional pattern repeats as it grows. The soft, muted tones of Noro Kumo contrast with the bolder colors of Noro Mirai creating a color landscape of rolling hills and valleys.

Kits are available for this design exclusively at YarnScout!

SUPPLIES:
Main Color (MC) = Noro Kumo, 1 hank (100 gm, 393 yards)
Contrast Color (CC) = Noro Mirai, 1 ball (100 gm, 328 yards)
US size 7 circular needle, at least 32” length
Stitch Markers
Darning needle, for weaving in ends
Finished dimensions, 64” length and 36” depth at the widest point.

I prefer shawls to be knit with a loose gauge so they are light and drapey. The fabric for this shawl should be fairly loose while you’re knitting, and will grow a bit with blocking. Please go up a needle size if you are a tight knitter! Finished gauge in pattern stitch (after blocking) is 18 sts over 4 inches. Gauge will only affect your finished size, and is not critical to the design.

Both yarns will stay attached throughout the project at the right edge of the right side. Carry the unused yarn up along the side by twisting it with the working yarn at the right side edge. Slip markers as you come to them even if not noted in the pattern instructions.
