The Laguna socks are a perfect introduction to colorwork socks. A small band of stripes and colorwork is enough to be fun but isn’t overwhelming. The colorwork design represents both Mount Laguna (a beautiful peak near my hometown) and the waves of Laguna Beach.

This pattern calls for 1 skein of sock yarn (fingering weight approximately 60-80 grams) in a solid or lightly speckeled color and two 20g mini skeins of contrasting colors.

The socks are worked from the cuff down using magic loop, with instructions for an afterthought cut-in heel. Photos are included to show the steps, and a link to a great YouTube tutorial is also included. The colorwork is charted while written instructions are provided for the rest of the sock.

The pattern is written for three sizes using 56, 64 and 72 sts for the colorwork charts, but the remainder of the leg and foot can be customized for other stitch counts after the colorwork is completed.

Thanks for checking out my first colorwork design!
