This is my go to bag for visiting farm stands, maker markets, grocery stores and malls. My favourite summer market sits between two beautiful lakes. This bag is perfect for holding the boxes of butter tarts I buy there and whatever else I find.

This bag has a boho style created by grater stitch and a 4 row repeat that uses simple yarn overs. It is made of 100% cotton yarn. You can throw it in the wash and line dry. The yarn will stretch and the bag is able to hold many items. The icord straps sit comfortably on your shoulder.

Yarn: Any worsted weight 100% cotton yarn will do. I prefer to buy a large ball such as the 400g Bernat Handicrafter Cotton which has enough yarn to make two market bags without having to join and weave in ends.

Solid or Stripes: The pattern is written for a solid colour bag and it includes two options for striped bags.
