#1 in the No Face Native American Doll Series. I had an idea one morning. Then, I started working and made my first “Lakota No Face Doll”. Our Grandmother Rose Lussier Nordwall (Red Lake Chippewa), married a man from Sisseton after my grandfather died. So, we have relatives from the Lakota Nation also! The pattern includes instructions for making the No Face Doll, Hair, Elk Tooth Trade Cloth Dress, Belt, Beaded Necklace and Earrings. The colors used are Navy, Red and White. Trade cloth was used to make these dresses and was limited in colors. You can make the main body of the dress in Navy or Red. I am trying to portray this doll as close to the original material used at the time these dresses were made. The White yarn in pattern of the dress represents the Elk Teeth that were sewn on the dresses for decoration.

If you use Red Heart Super Saver for the Dress, you may need to go Down a hook size to have the dress fit properly.

Supplies needed to make this doll are:
Scissors, tapestry needle, stitch marker, fiber-fil, 3/8” button, 6/0 beads, thread and beading needle and fabric glue
