Lamar Valley Headband
The Lamar valley, also dubbed the “American serengeti” is located within Yellowstone National Park. This area is home to vast diversity of animal species, including bison, grey wolves, grizzly bears, pronghorn and elk, among many more. This headband aims to capture the majesty of standing in Lamar valley, featuring the iconic grizzly bear, elk and bison.
To determine sizing, measure the circumference of your head along the path that you would like the headband to fit. I wanted it to fit at an angle as shown in the photo, so I measured from the top of my forehead and over my ears. A good rule of thumb is to knit a finished project approximately 2” smaller than the diameter of your head for a proper comfortable fit. The finished project measures 19.5” which fits most adults. Adjust needle size as needed.
This is a stranded colorwork design requiring catching long floats, making it a more difficult project.
