Lapiline Socks
The Lapiline socks brings faux entrelac and patchwork magic to sock knitting. It’s patchwork stripe magic! These socks are a great intro project to this wonderful stitch pattern that is super simple and stretchy. It’s only knit stitches, yarn overs, k2tog and ssk – easy! It is a great pattern to showcase self striping yarns, sock mini skeins and sets, as well as stash busting.
Included in the pattern is a colouring page where you can colour in a sock to plan your patchwork stripes whether you choose to use 2 colours or even more for ultimate stash busting. Also included is a video tutorial for the afterthought heel placement and picking up stitches.
PATTERN NOTES
These socks are knit from the leg down to the toe. The leg and instep of the sock feature a faux entrelac stitch pattern. The sock is written for using a self-striping yarn as well as non-self-striping such as using multiple solid colours from stash.
If you are using multiple solid colours to create your own patchwork stripes, you will change colours every 4 rounds in the pattern.
The pattern uses an afterthought-heel method to keep the faux entrelac striping pattern continuous through the whole sock.
The toe is worked in stockinette with decreases on each side of the foot.
