The Kohin scarf is an ode to a love of lace with a modern twist. This scarf makes the lace stand out boldly by seamlessly knitting to attach it overtop a contrasting stockinette base. Get ready to elevate your scarf game with this eye catching accessory perfect for showcasing that special skein of lace weight yarn in your stash.

The name “kohin” means rustling like leaves in the wind in Estonian. Think of that lace rustling like a floating leaf over your bold constrasting scarf.

PATTERN NOTES

This scarf is knit first using DK-weight yarn from tip to tip. Purl stitches are worked on right side rows on either side of the i-cord edges of the scarf. These lines of purl stitches will be used to attach the lace panel.

A lace panel in lace-weight yarn is knit flat starting from picking up stitches along a ridge of purl stitches from above one tip. The lace panel is attached to each side of the scarf on each right side row by picking up purl stitches in DK and working together with the first and last lace panel stitches. At the end of the lace panel, the stitches are grafted together with stitches picked up along purl ridge above the other scarf tip.
