Kits for this hat are available on my website at www.kristeninstitches.com/shop/kits

This month’s hat is inspired by Lassen Volcanic National Park in Northern California. We visited Lassen when I was very young and I have almost no memories of this park except that there were some warm pools we soaked in. We are planning a trip to visit towards the end of this summer and I cannot wait to see it again as an adult!

The volcanic nature of the park paired well with this month’s yarn choices - Malabrigo Arroyo in Volcan and Susurro in Fire Agate. Held together, these colors create a medley for fire and ash -- the perfect representation of Mt. Lassen and the volcanic features of the park!

The design itself is knit flat in short rows to shape the entire body of the hat. You’ll see even the shape (before the brim is knit-on) is
the perfect volcanic dome. I had so much fun designing this one. I hope you enjoy knitting it!
