While attending Vogue Knitting Live NYC 2020, I had the opportunity to meet Karen, owner of Do Ewe Knit in New Jersey. After the doors opened to the marketplace for the first time, I ran across this gorgeous Electric Lavender slubby yarn. Lo and behold, right next to it was the most delicious skein of silk/mohair in the exact same color. Karen walked over to me, we met, and she asked if I would design her something. Of COURSE I agreed. Lovingly clutching my treasures to my chest, another intrepid knitter reached out and tried to grab my precious’ from my hands. What ensued was a friendly tug of war over my Electric Lavender slubby yarn. I had grabbed the last skein of the lot and the nice lady was a Yarn Therapist fan! I managed to purchase my loot and you now see the results. The name of my pattern follows an interesting thought pattern. Everyone, or so it seems, who designs for Karen, uses ‘Ewe’ in the name of the pattern. I racked my brains for a week. Finally, a song my mother used to sing to me, Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly came to mind. And there you have it. A mix of an old English folk song and an inspiring woman, mashed up into a lofty and electric lavender dream cowl, so I can always remember #VKLNY2020.

This is a one size fits all pattern, specifically designed for 2 yarns held together. While you can make this pattern with any fingering weight yarn held double with a mohair lace, the pattern shows off novelty yarns to best advantage.

Gauge is NOT an issue with this pattern. Be set free from the usual rules regarding gauge. Simply cast on and jump right into what we love best, knitting.
