The Lavender Hat is worked in chunky acrylic yarn (or you could use 2 strands of double knit yarn), and a 5.5mm hook.

The pattern is versatile and can be re-sized easily. It is worked in rows of half trebles, but using only the front loop. This creates a ridged effect. The hat is worked as 1 rectangular piece, which is sewn closed, and then gathered at the top.

Materials
Chunky yarn
5.5mm hook
Darning needle

Skill level
Stitches used are chain, half treble. This would be a great project for a beginner who has mastered the basics.

The pattern is for a small adult head - 18” circumference. But if you want to change the height (from brim to top), then change the number of starting chains. And if you want a wider hat, increase the number of rows.
