Two excellent Aran weight yarns for this project are Universal Yarn’s Cotton Supreme and Red Heart’s Soft. Because of the nature of this item, size and gauge are not particularly important: for a larger sachet, use a Bulky weight yarn; for a smaller sachet, use a Sport or DK weight yarn.

Regardless of the size of your project, however, your stitches should be very tight, to prevent the lavender flowers from poking out in between the stitches. Whatever yarn you use, I recommend using needles at least 2 sizes smaller that the size “recommended” for your chosen yarn, and keep your stitches very tight.
