Lavender's Bookmark
Lavender
Lavender is best known as Ron’s temporary crush, and will go down in history as being a love-struck wimp. But I think there’s more to her story, don’t you?
This bookmark is a fast and easy knit. With a heart pattern, it is easy to identify as Lavender-themed, yet also is a great Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter, or Christmas gift.
It is easy to work and very quick - less than 2 hours to make. It is a bit shorter than Ginny’s and Hermione’s bookmarks, but still makes a lovely set with all three.
As with all my patterns, I tried to keep this pattern as beginner-friendly as possible. I used easy to understand abbreviations and included a glossary with definitions. This is an excellent first lace project and very intuitive and yet interesting enough for experienced witches and wizards! ;)
You’ll need about 25-30 yards of fingering weight yarn and 3.5mm (US 4) straight knitting needles.
After finishing this little beauty, be sure to block it, as the garter stitch has a tendency to flop behind the stockinette and blocking always improves lace!
This pattern is the fourth pattern in the Magical Bookmarks series - a collection of free bookmark knitting patterns inspired by the girls of Harry Potter. #magicalbookmarks
