The Lehto Socks are a timeless pair of DK-weight socks featuring a nature inspired lace panel that flows along the front of the leg and continues down on the top of the foot. Knit from the cuff down, they combine a classic construction with a touch of texture for an enjoyable knit and comfortable fit.
The socks feature a garter stitch heel flap with gussets for a well-fitting heel and are finished with a rounded toe. The lace pattern is provided in both charted and written form, making the pattern accessible for different knitting preferences. The pattern includes instructions for 3 sizes, but by changing the yarn weight or needle size, you get even more size options.

YARN AND YARDAGE 100 (150, 150) g of Drops Fiesta (110 m / 50 g) or 200 (250, 300) m / 220 (275, 330) yards of any DK weight sock yarn.

NEEDLES 3.25 mm needles suitable for working small circumference in the round

GAUGE 12 sts x 16 rnds of stockinette = 5 x 5 cm / 2 x 2 inches after blocking

SIZES 1 (2, 3) = S (M, L)
Finished sock foot circumference is 16.5 (21, 25) cm / 6.5 (8.25, 9.75) inches. Choose a size that gives you 1–2.5 cm / 0.5–1 inch of negative ease.

A note about sizing: The stitch pattern is based on a 10-stitch repeat, so each size differs by 10 stitches. At the DK gauge of 24 sts per 10 cm, that makes for fairly big jumps between sizes. If you fall between sizes, changing your gauge is an easy way to fine-tune the fit. I knit the largest size (60 sts) on 2.5 mm needles with fingering-weight yarn and ended up with a medium-sized sock. Feel free to experiment with different yarn weights and needle sizes to achieve the size that works best for you.

The stitch pattern is simple lace with knits, purls, decreases and yarn overs. Even if you are new to lace knitting, I encourage you to give them a try!
