This is a large shawl which can be worn in several ways. I designed this shawl for winter dance rehearsals in the Leigh Hall. I would either wrap it around my shoulders and tie at the waist, or tie it around my middle to keep my kidneys warm. However it looks great worn in the traditional shawl manner. The finished DK shawl measures 222cms wide, by 64cms deep.
Its a nice easy knit in DK, but you could easily substitute a 4 ply for a smaller shawl or a worsted weight for an even warmer garment. Bear in mind that meterage for substitution would be different.
The shawl sits on the shoulders nicely due to the curve created with short rows.
