This unisex scarf reminds me of snow on a logging trail here in the Berkshires. It features a long, narrow linear design to wrap multiple times for additional warmth or wear long showing off the vertical stripes to make a fashion statement. It is designed to be fully reversible; there is no right or wrong side.
This scarf is worked lengthwise on long circular needles and is straightforward, employing only knit and purl stitches to create texture with seed stitch being the predominate theme; a great beginner pattern introducing seed stitch, stockinette and reverse stockinette stitches.
Fringe is optional and may require an additional skein; Fringe shown used 14 inch lengths looped through the end stitch resulting in 2 strands 7 inches in length every other row and utilizing a fringe twister. A simple fringe may also be applied to the ends without twisting. Fringe twister tutorials are available online.
