Let’s Knit On!
First Hat
This is an easy “first hat” pattern for beginning knitters. It is knit in the round with circular needles, from the bottom to the top, incorporating ribbing, knit and purl stitches, decreasing and knitting with double pointed needles. This pattern is for anyone and those times you may want something simple to knit. The hat matches the Let’s Knit On! Mitts pattern. Enjoy!

Materials
1 skein of Malabrigo Rios yarn, or another worsted weight yarn.
Size 8 circular knitting needles, in a 16” length. Size 8 double pointed needles, 6” long. Stitch marker. Yarn needle.
Gauge measures 4 1/2 stitches per inch in stockinette stitch. The hat measures 18” in circumference x 8 1/2” tall. It is a women’s medium size.
