About the Pattern

Knit reversible coasters or potholders with your favorite initial or spell out words with the full set! The Alphabet Coasters/Potholders are quick to knit and make a great gift.

This pattern is for the Letter G coaster and potholder. Check out the Alphabet Coasters/Potholders ebook for the rest of the alphabet.

The Letter G Coaster/Potholder is worked using non-mirrored double knitting so that the letter is legible on both sides, which makes both the coaster and potholder fully reversible with opposite colors on the reverse side. Charts for traditional double knitting are included as well. The color work design is chart only, not written instructions.

The coaster is made with fingering weight yarn, and the finished size is approximately 3.75” (9.5 cm) by 3.75” (9.5 cm).

The potholder is made with worsted weight yarn, and the finished size is approximately 6.75” (17.1 cm) wide by 7” (17.8 cm) tall.

Disclaimer: This pattern is for creating decorations only. The knitted potholders might not protect you from hot items, and contact with hot items could melt certain types of yarn. Please use caution.

Materials

Coaster:

• Size 2 US (2.75 mm) needles.
• Size 1 US (2.25 mm) needles (optional for a neater cast on edge).
• Approximately 20 yards (18.3 m) each of two contrasting colors of fingering weight yarn.
• Needle to weave in ends.

Potholder:

• Size 5 US (3.75 mm) needles.
• Size 4 US (3.5 mm) needles (optional for a neater cast on edge).
• Approximately 50 yards (45.7 m) each of two contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn.
• Needle to weave in ends.
