Liv is the grand old lady of my family, at 92 she is still a very vital headstrong and generous person. She knows what she wants and appreciates good handknit socks. I have named this pattern after her.

Liv Socks is a wearable, easy and elegant design that is as enjoyable to knit as it is to wear. Pretty, soft and warm, these socks will be a true treat for your feet - or for those of a loved one.

Liv socks are knit from the cuff down to the toe. They feature a faux cable pattern and a reinforced heel flap. Instructions are written for double pointed needles, however magic-loop technique can be used if preferred. Foot length is adjustable, and the leg circumference is adjustable by changing the pattern gauge. With thicker yarn and/or needles you’ll get bigger size socks. I get a default size 38 (US 7) using 2,5mm needles and a 175m/50g yarn.

Pending your yarn choice and size you’ll need 55-90g of sock yarn, a set of DPNs and a crochet needle to pick up stitches on the sides of the heel flap.
