About this pattern
Leyv is Faroese for foliage/leaves. The shawl has instructions for two sizes.
The small size is good as a cover for your shoulders in daytime and the larger shawl is great for snuggling up in during the colder summer evenings.
It’s easy to add your own personal touch on the design either by changing the size or by adding design elements like cables, beads or lace.

This pattern is great if you love to personalise your shawl every step of the way or if you want to try lace knitting for the first time.

Construction
The shawl is started with the lace border that is repeated depending on which size you want to end up with. After knitting the lace border, you bind off and break yarn.
Stitches are now picked up and the main body of the shawl is knit.
The main body of the shawl consists of garter rows and decreases. If you find plain garter too tedious or boring, please turn to the final pattern page for tips and ideas on how to customize this section.

The instructions include schematics, chart and written instructions for the chart. It also has two pages with tips and ideas for personalisation.
