You knit from one tip to the other side of the scarf in double rows in shadow technique: the RS are always knitted, the WS are always purled or knitted and that makes the difference….

While knitting the “diamond” shape of the pattern dictates the form of the scarf. For the change of knitting direction there are 4 different diagrams included.
On the right side you knit an edge pattern while knitting the scarf, which is similar to a “collar” wearing the scarf just laying over the shoulders - but it´s long enough to wrap it around.

The pattern is in PDF, an extra stich per stich pattern I can send after a bit of time, should you want it

Wool needed:
Scarf:
75 g Camel DK, Pascuali in “Espresso”
150 g Alpaca Fino, Pascuali in “Valentino Red”
OR
150 g Bio Wool (replacing the brown), 200 g Bio Wool (replacing the red)
Scarf and Beret:
100 g Camel DK, 150 g Alpaca Fino
200 g Bio Wool/ 300 g Bio Wool
