This hat works up LIGHTNING FAST. The bulky yarn and large needles make it practically fly off the needles!

The sample hat is worked in a 7 wpi hand-spun thick and thin yarn, giving it a rustic texture. You can substitute your favorite commercially produced yarn that meets gauge. A consistently spun yarn will produce an even fabric.

Unstretched, the hat measures 19” in circumference and 8” high Since the cable pattern is worked only in the panel, you can add or subtract stitches (in quantities of 4 to maintain the ribbing) to adjust the hat for your best fit.

Yarn: Any yarn (or yarns held together) to get gauge of 3 stitches per inch.

You’ll need 75-85 yards of yarn to complete this pattern as written.

Notions: BOR marker, cable needle, yarn needle for weaving in ends.
