I designed these mittens for my mom, who loves the scent of lilac blossoms in the spring.

The main pattern shows a cluster of lilac blossoms while the palm is a traditional Scandinavian mitten design. I designed the stylized vine-and-leaf cuff to contrast with the blossoms.

Any fingering or sport weight yarn would work, although I recommend Knit Picks Telemark for warmth and durability. The sample was knit in Bernat Satin Sport because of my mom’s wool sensitivity; I used less than 1 skein of each colour.

Enjoy!

Special thanks to MissChief, who put together a blank Excel chart for me to play with!
