Lilacs in the Rockies
Some people get itchy feet in the summer or fall, but I always get the urge to take a little road trip in the spring. I love watching the bright green leaves unfurl and that feeling of renewal, which then makes me excited to get back home again to start working on my own garden. This year, in 2016, I drove up to the Canadian Rockies to see a friend in the Robson Valley, British Columbia. The icy snow patches were almost melted, and the lilacs were on their way!
Because of its multiple strands and thick neck section, this necklace is almost like a scarf. Just what you need when you’re sick of wearing winter woolens but still need a little something extra to bring in the new season. It’s a simple pattern that uses only knit and purl stitches and a fancy way of binding off. Plus, it’s worked in one piece, so no seaming is required. Beautiful.
