While my samples are all knit in Cashmere, you can use any yarn and needle size as long as you like the drape, feel, and stripe width of the fabric. Stripe width can be adjusted by working 2 fewer or 2 additional stitches per stripe repeat as written in the pattern.

You can knit a smaller or larger scarf by working more or fewer repeats as stated in the pattern.

The name stems from Piz Linard, a Swiss mountain with a distinct triangular shape.

Size: (X-Small) Small (Medium) Large
Length: 81 (94) 108 (121) cm 32½ (37½) 43¼ (48½) inches
Height: 32 (37) 43 (48) cm 12¾ (14¾) 17¼ (19¼) inches

Gauge: 22 stitches x 34 rows / 10 cm x 10 cm 4 inches x 4 inches on 3.5 mm US4 needles.
As the Linard scarf is an accessory, exact gauge is not critical. However, differences in gauge will affect the final size and drape of the scarf.

Yarn Option 1: 50 (75) 100 (100) g Cashmere Classic by Cardiff (25 g = 112 m 122 yards) or Cashmere Premium by Lang Yarn (25 g = 115 m 126 yards) or Cashmere 6/28 by Pascuali (25 g = 112 m 122 yards)
Yarn Option 2: 50 (50) 75 (75) g Cashmere by Patent und Patronen (25 g = 300 m 328 yards) (2 strands of yarn held together) or 50 (50) 75 (75) g Prime by Cardiff (25 g = 300 m 328 yards)
Both yarn options result in the same gauge. Yarn option 2 creates a noticeably airier fabric with a softer drape.

Techniques: knit and purl stitches, right-leaning and left-leaning increases (worked knitwise or purlwise), pick up stitches along side edge, I-cord bind-off (knit 2 stitches together through the back loops)

The red Linard Scarf is knitted in Cashmere Classic by Cardiff in the color Hermes - size Large.

The black Linard Scarf is knitted in Cashmere by Patent und Patronen - size Small.
