The Rigi Scarf is a triangular scarf worked from tip to tip, featuring broad ribbed sections framed by double-knit borders.

Sizes: Small (Medium) Large (X-Large)
Length: 87 (116) 144 (172) cm 34¾ (46½) 57½ (68¾) inches
Width: 19 (25) 30 (35) cm 7½ (10) 12 (14) inches

You can knit a smaller or larger scarf by working more or fewer repeats as stated in the pattern.

Yarn:
50 (75) 75 (100) g Cashmere 6/28 by Pascuali (25 g = 112 m 122 yards)
or Cashmere Classic by Cardiff (25 g = 112 m 122 yards)
or Cashmere Premium by Lang Yarns (25 g = 115 m 126 yards)

While my blue sample is knitted in Cashmere 6/28 by Pascuali (size Large), you can use any yarn and needle size as long as you are happy with the drape, feel, and stripe width of the fabric.

The Rigi Scarf has been test knitted with Malabrigo Arroyo on 4 mm needles. Size Medium used 319 yards, finished scarf length 156 cm.

Techniques: knit and purl stitches, double knitting, right-leaning and left-leaning increases (knitwise and purlwise), right-leaning and left-leaning decreases, Italian Cast-On and Bind-Off

The Rigi Scarf is inspired by my Rigi Hat designs, which are named after Mount Rigi — often called the “Queen of the Mountains”. The crown-shaped silhouette of the Rigi Hats echoes their namesake.
