Inspired by the intricate Celtic illuminations of the Lindisfarne Gospels, the Aran cables on this poncho swirl and intertwine to create a beautiful flowing design. Lindisfarne is a perfect sampler of advanced cable knitting motifs.

The Lindisfarne Mantle is constructed from two rectangular panels, knitted flat and sewn together with a center neck opening. A variety of cable patterns are worked across the width of each panel. Stitches are then picked up along the neckline and knitted flat with buttonhole(s) along the neckband edge. The stitch patterns are both charted and written.

Sample is to fit 32-44”; model is 34” bust.
