How wonderful it is that we can knit and wear handmade pieces all year round, without tying knitting only to the colder seasons.

Linen Tee no. 26 was created especially for summer - for the warmest days of the year. Short sleeves, cool linen, fluid fabric, and comfortable positive ease allow air and freshness to move gently against the skin, while the shoulders remain covered from the intense summer sun.

The tee is worked bottom up. The body is knitted in the round to the underarm, then divided into front and back sections worked flat. The neckline and shoulder slope are shaped with short rows for a comfortable fit.

An imitation square armhole and dropped shoulders give the silhouette a relaxed, structured look. The edges of the hem, sleeves, and neckline are finished with contrasting i-cord details.

As a designer and a knitter, I wanted this project to feel calm and enjoyable on the needles while still including thoughtful construction details. Linen Tee no. 26 combines breathable fabric, clean shapes, and small finishing elements that make handmade garments feel special.
