About the design

The name of the design comes from an Estonian word Lipsuga which translates to “with a bow” in English.

The Lipsuga Blouse is the second design in the Lipsuga series. The first design, the Lipsuga Sweater, was first published in November 2025. Both designs feature the bow details on the shoulders but the construction, neckline and gauge are different. The Lipsuga Sweater is more suitable for colder seasons while this design, the Lipsuga Blouse, can work for all seasons.

The Lipsuga Blouse design contains two neckline options: a rolled neck and a V-neck. The blouse can also be knitted as a tee, with instructions for short sleeves and a cropped body length. The blouse is knitted top town using a saddle shoulder construction. The saddle shoulder panels are knitted first. Stitches are then picked up along the saddles and the shoulders are shaped with short rows. Once the short rows and neckline shaping is completed, the remainder of the yoke is worked in the round, making continuous increases for the sleeves and body. The body and sleeves are then worked in the round, finishing with a rolled edge bind-off. The neckline is worked in the round with stitches picked up from the neck edge, following the instructions for the selected neckline option. Finally, the I-cord ties are added to both sides of the shoulder panels to create the bow details.
