The Little Knit Hedgehogs are here to turn your yarn scraps into woodland whimsy. They’re perfect for using up those little pieces that are too small to do anything else with. Knit them up as cat toys, adorable decorations, or simply wee stuffed animals.

Size
The finished hedgehog is approximately 9-10cm / 3.5-4” long and 7-7.5cm / 2.75-3” circumference.

Yarn and Yardage
The hedgehog uses fingering weight sock yarn, and needs about 30-35 yards total. C1 needs 25-30 yards and C2 needs 5 yards. Sock yarn with nylon or silk, or a high twist is preferred, as it will be more durable.

Black embroidery thread or scraps of black fingering weight yarn is needed for the eyes.

Notions
Knitting needles (DPNs or circulars), darning needle, two pieces of scrap black fingering weight yarn for eyes, polyfill for stuffing.

Techniques
The hedgehog is knit in the round and the ears are knit flat. This pattern serves as a good introduction to stuffed animal knitting.
