Introduction
The Little (Red) Cabled Hood is a whimsical hood with a scarf attached to keep you
warm, cozy, and looking cute! With the optional hand-sewn silk lining, you can be sure
your curls will stay bouncy and frizz-free all day long. First the top cable is worked from
front to back, and stitches are picked up to create the top of the hood. With a cable
worked at each side front, the hood is shaped using increases. At each side of the
bottom of the hood, stitches are placed on a holder, and ribbing is added to the bottom.
The scarf stitches are then worked in a beautiful cable pattern and ended with ribbing to
match the hood.

Materials
● 425 yards of DK weight yarn - I used Yarn Bee 4 (100% mercerized cotton; 100
grams / 164 yards / 150 meters) in the colorway Lipstick Red
● US 4 / 3.5 mm 24” / 60 cm circular needles, or longer (for the Main Hood)
● US 4 / 3.5 mm needles - you can use two double pointed needles, straight
needles, or a second circular needle (for the T op Cable)
● 2 stitch holders
● 4 stitch markers
● T apestry needle
● Optional: 1 yard of silk fabric for the lining, matching thread, and a sewing
needle.

Gauge
24 stitches and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm on US 4 / 3.5 mm needles, after gentle blocking

Finished Measurements
Length (from top cable to bottom ribbing): 15.5“ / 39 cm.
Width (measured flat): 13” / 32.5 cm.
Scarf Length: 15” / 37.5 cm
