Little Tweed Stocking
Looking for a simple small stocking pattern? Look no further….designed for sport weight yarn, this little guy can really be made in any weight yarn if you adjust for a needle size appropriate to your yarn weight. It will be larger or smaller, depending on gauge. You can also easily make it larger by adding some stitches to the width or adjusting the length of the leg or foot sections … but will let you do that math as you see fit.
This one is perfect for ornamental use or as a small gift “bag”. Make a few!
Materials:
• COLOR A: +/-20g sport weight yarn (shown as red in pictures)
• COLOR B: +/-20g sport weight yarn (shown as green in pictures)
• US 3 (3.25mm) 9” circular needles (or longer length cable if using magic-loop). You may want to use DPN needles for the heel section if you’ve been using 9” circular needle throughout.
• +/- 18” waste yarn for afterthought heel (if desired)
• Removable stitch markers, different colors or styles (I used 2 - to mark BOR and half-round)
• Stitch Holder (optional)
• Tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
Sizing:
Circumference = +/- 10”.
Yarn used in pattern is Bobolink Yarns Green Mountain Blend Sport.
