Littoral Cowl
The Littoral Zone is the space where land and water meet - where fragments of stone, shell, and debris gather and soften over time.
Inspired by this space, the Littoral Cowl reflects the balance of hardened land and flowing water. Repetitions of a solid/tonal yarn form a structured shore, while various stitches worked in a variegated yarn create movement that mimics the waterline.
This pattern is part of the Duality Duo, alongside Gilded Twilight Cowl. They explore how opposites coexist and are strengthened by one another.
Sizing of this cowl is incredibly customizable. Adjusting the starting chain or amount of body repeats can easily change the width or height. Make a close to the neck cowl as written, or lengthen the chain and create an infinity scarf.
The pattern is fully written and includes photo tutorials to assist with the placement of stitches.
Sample cowl used: Juniper Moon Farms Cumulus and Cumulus Dappled (251y/ 230m in 100g)
46g (116y/106m) of MC (Cumulus in Pearl)
46g (116y/106m) of CC. (Cumulus Dappled in Sierra Forest)
This will vary based on your tension and any adjustments you make in size.
I recommend choosing a highly variegated yarn for your CC and choosing a solid MC that coordinates with the CC.
