Lizzie’s Market tank is a simple summer v-neck worked bottom-up in the round with a split hem, then worked flat from the bottoms of the armholes onward. The tops of the shoulders can be seamed together using either the kitchener (grafting) stitch, or a three-needle bind-off (sample top uses kitchener stitch).

Just like its namesake, the character Lizzie from Christina Rossetti’s poem “The Goblin Market,” this top is straightforward and practical. Because it is worked almost entirely in stockinette in the round, this tank knits up quickly and easily, making it the perfect project to bring along on all your summer adventures!
