Loch Maree
This project was inspired by amazing and admirable KNOLL Soft Donegal yarn, and a wonderful book - Twisted-Stitch Knitting by Maria Erlbacher. I was fascinated by a delicate filigree of her twisted stitch patterns. Loch Maree is a lake in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland. It is often referred to as the most beautiful loch in the Highlands. Loch Maree is also one of the best tasting thorn free Blackberries. For this cute little cardigan I have chosen the yarn color and the pattern which resemble this berry.
Loch Maree is a small close-fitting cardigan; it has a rounded neckline with sharp V cutout, and a front buttons closure. These seamless garment is worked from top down in stockinette stitch and adorned with intricate twisted stitch patterns on the front and back. After the armholes have been shaped, the back and front parts are joint and worked as one piece. Seamlessly knitted sleeves look set-in. All the edges are decorated with i-cord.
This pattern includes twisted stitch cables which should be crossed on both right and wrong sides.
Difficulty Level - moderate to advanced.
Skills required: short row shaping; knitting cables; twisted k and p sts; i-cord knitting; picking up sts along vertical and horizontal edges; buttonholes knitting; chart reading.

Loch Maree -
