The Loop-de-Loop design is created by pulling loops up from previously worked rows. It creates a Fair Isle look, but only uses one color per row.

The cowl can easily be made longer or shorter by adding or subtracting any multiple of 4 stitches.

For the hat, when working decrease rounds for the top of the hat, switch to DPN’s when stitches no longer fit comfortably on circular needles.

The Loop Pattern on the mittens is worked around the entire hand so that there is no need to make a “left” mitten and a “right” mitten. They are interchangeable.
