Want an easy garment pattern for your baby and still learn something new too? The Lucille Baby Cardigan Pattern is the perfect choice whether you have made hundreds of garments before or have never tried one at all! Not to mention it comes with 6 sizes (Newborn, 3mos, 6mos, 9mos, 12 mos, and 18 mos) so you can create new cardigans as your baby grows!

This cardigan is sure to be a big hit with the modern mama, because of it’s trendy texture and durability! So it’s the perfect heirloom gift for baby showers as well!

This pattern was tested by my amazing group of pattern testers over on Facebook to ensure it reads easy and can be replicated. You can see some of their work in my gallery!

Want to sell your physical cardigans at your next craft fair or in your small shop? Go right ahead! Any physical items/products you make from ANY of my patterns can be sold. Just please do not sell the pattern!

Here are a few more notes to think about when deciding on this pattern:

It is EXTREMELY important to check gauge before you start your cardigan. Especially if you are using a different yarn than the Loops and Threads Impeccable! It is also very helpful to check gauge as you crochet to make sure you are on the right track.

If choosing another medium weight yarn other than Loops and Threads Impeccable, please keep in mind that some medium weight yarns are much lighter and lean more towards a DK weight. Medium weight yarns that lean more towards the DK spectrum make it harder to meet gauge and can can result in a very “holey” or “airy” cardigan. Yarns that I DO NOT recommend for this pattern are: Lion Brand’s Pound of Love and Caron Simply Soft. Other yarns I DO recommend for this pattern are: Yarn Bee’s Sleek and Soft, Red Heart Super Saver, Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn.

Picture Tutorials are located in a separate PDF by themselves for easier printing of the written pattern. This extra comes with your pattern purchase. Tutorials include: Berry Stitch Variation, Joining the Armholes, Ribbing, SC around the cardigan, and more.

The Berry Stitch used in this pattern is a variation of the original Berry Stitch. The variation is used to make the stitch thicker which brings more texture to the cardigan. You can see a picture tutorial in the PDF with the picture tutorials or read the written instructions.

The ribbing is crocheted directly onto the cardigan. So there is no need to fasten off before you start the ribbing. However, you can always crochet the ribbing separate then sew the ribbing on after if the steps are confusing for you.

When you are crocheting the Berry stitch rows remember to crochet the Berry stitches in to the single crochets from the row before and to slip stitch in the slip stitches from the row before. If this isn’t done, the berry stitches will line up uneven. This also makes it easy to double check your counting.

The pattern is formatted with many parenthesis. Make sure to complete the steps between the () for however many times it says afterwards.

Assume stitches are worked in both loops unless pattern says otherwise.
