The lucky star cardigan is a patchwork-style cardigan featuring a drop-shoulder, tapered sleeves, a double-knitted button band, and 1x1 ribbing. This cardigan was created from my love for patchwork + stars. The patchwork is a sign that you can put yourself back together even if you’re having a hard time & the stars signify luck. I hope that when you make and wear this cardigan yourself, you carry a bit of luck with you wherever you go <3

THIS PATTERN FEATURES:

• Written & photo instructions on how to make the bag + video instructions on how to make the double-knitted button band.
• Supplementary videos linked for specific techniques (eg, long-tail cast-on, mattress stitch, etc).
• Graphs for every part of the cardigan (collar, sleeve, body).
• A tester lookbook so you can have a good idea of how much yarn to use based on the size you plan to make.

SIZES:
- This is a graded pattern with set sizes 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6). The bust circumference of these sizes are 32”/81.5cm (40”/102cm) 48”/123cm (56”/142cm) 64”/162.5cm (72”/183cm). There is no recommended ease as you’re free to make a cardigan that is fitted or oversized <3

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

• The pattern is written in English using US crochet terminology.
• Skills: Knit, purl, 1x1 ribbing, Italian cast on, Kitchener’s stitch, seaming, picking up stitches, decreasing (K2TOG, SSK). Videos are provided in case you’re not sure how to do some of these.
• Skill level: This pattern is recommended for intermediate knitters and up. You should have experience with knitting, purling, and decreasing. If you are a very confident beginner and aren’t put-off on learning lots of new things, it is possible to make this, given that there are multiple video tutorials, photos, graphs, along with written instructions <3

MATERIALS:
- Recommended yarn: Worsted/aran (size 4) weight yarn.
For reference, I my first cardigan was made using Hobbii Friends Wool (80g of each color + 180g in the main color) & my second cardigan was made using Hobbii Divina (100g of each color + 350g in the main color). Please see tester lookbook to gauge how much yarn you need to secure.

• Recommended needle size: 5mm needles or any needle that matches the yarn weight/size you’re using. I used circular needles (cord size 48”).
• Tape measure
• Scissors
• Yarn needle
• Stitch markers
• 7/8”/22mm buttons (I used 6 but you can use more/less)
