Lunar Moth Shawl
by Fay Rowland
Lunar Moth Shawl is a crescent-shaped, open-work shawl, worked in 4-ply with a large hook for an open effect. You can vary the finished size by changing hook. The model uses a 6mm hook and is around 1m radius.
It is worked from the centre to the hem , and uses international crochet terms (with simple conversion to US).
It is simple to make, being almost entirely treble and chain.
Optional beads around the frilled hem add weight and flow, as you can see in the picture.
I designed it for the Fantasy Forest festival, where I went as the Lunar Moth Queen.
While I love the all-white look, this pattern would also be awesome in an ombre yarn.
